The Office of the Senior Minister (OSM) was re-established by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana in accordance with Section 15 of the Civil Service Act, 1993 (PNDCL 327) to exercise oversight responsibility over economic Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to ensure prudent economic management. It also collaborates and co-ordinates with other government agencies on government’s flagship projects.
The OSM is further overseeing Public Sector Reforms as well as the Ghana Beyond Aid initiative.
In this respect, the objectives of the OSM under the National Medium Term Development Policy Framework (NMTDPF) stand as follows:Improve public expenditure management and budgetary controlProfessionalize and modernize public institutions to be responsive and efficientPromote social behaviour change for enhanced development outcomes
The OSM envisions a responsive Government with safer and satisfied citizens exists to ensure that the Government agenda to improve the quality of life of the average citizen is achieved.
